I have a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology specializing in Exercise Science.
I have worked in the health and fitness field in adaptive physical activity centers, schools, and as a personal trainer.
I believe that each person is unique, so their workout plan must be tailored to fit their health and fitness needs. I am here to help each individual with a workout program designed for them.
Back in 2011 I was in a bad car accident. I had stopped at a red light and the truck behind me crashed into the back of my car, totalling it. My spine was bent backwards and suddenly even mundane things like riding in a car were painful. Intense exercise was no longer an option, I had to go back to the basics, breaking down exercise into manageable parts. I worked redeveloping the muscles through my whole body and over time was able to regain the mobility in my neck. I now use these same methods of exercise in the programs I teach, breaking down exercise into manageable parts.
Most workout programs out there start too big. They make big promises and have big exercises. The thing people don’t tell you is that those exercises are hard on your body, and many of them are not where you should be starting. When I got injured, I had to create a fitness plan that accommodated my unique situation and broke down exercise into manageable amounts. I now use that approach with my clients. Exercise should be tailored to your goals and designed for your specific biomechanics.
I have worked with clients who are dealing with personal factors such as osteoporosis or spending all their time working at a desk. Each of these clients has specialized needs that their workout program should address. I take the time to dive deeper into not just their fitness, but into their lifestyle and help them connect what we are working on with what will give them a better quality of life overall.
If you are looking for a workout that will address your specific needs and the lifestyle you want to have, then schedule a free consultation. I would love to speak with you!
